I feel a cool breeze in my chest
Of holy vapors
Springtime is drunk on the front porch
And hard sunlight makes the tops of my legs red
My arms hot underneath
This cigarette smokes slow in this misty summer morning
Wool on my neck
A spot to scratch on my ankle inside a thick sock
I’d imagine I'd be in two quilts with warm whisky
Nerve pills fuzzed out at the edges
TV lights blink and ice splashes the window
With cold dark wind at 4pm
That same air is frozen in my sinuses between my skull
And my brain moving thick and slow
I see a yellowbird
Tugging at an earthworm in a swampy backyard

The ten ton stray dog on its mangy side, belly swollen.
Its bowels was slippery-
All around was very hostile…
Kicks and cruelty followed pats and scratches
All the time,
Poison was in palms held out
Antifreeze was in the burger
I dragged my ass on the concrete and dug around
In trashcans-
Shamed or pitied by these strange things
I got closer just to be fed.
Humped by bigger-
I snapped and chewed on smallers.
But I felt it stretching
I itched and shed with cramps in this fleshy gut-
When it was rotten I started to hate it
I couldn't explain things by the way they smelled anymore.
I couldn't sleep in my stinkin' box because it smelled like I used to.
My spine shook like a sack of gravel.
An infinite yawn then put me upright after a thousand years-
I was sharp and without attachment but I was fucking all the time.
I wasn't sleeping like all those goddamn dogs all the time.
I didn't sniff asses in public anymore.
I smelled like I was rollin in flowers and I was cut from stone.
I processed like a computer but I couldn't hear
A fucking thing…
One thousand years later I had destroyed it all!
I couldn't fear or smell or hear
I was a dynamo throbbing with irradiated and calculated paranoia
Poison in the dark matter - getting bigger
Hostile all around poison in the dark matter
Antifreeze in the burger
